Application Process
The application process for the 2026 Engineering Global Talent Scholarship involves two main steps:
Apply to study an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme in the School of Engineering at the University of Southampton
Complete the scholarship interest expression form by the deadline of 28 April 2026, 5pm (UK time)
As part of your scholarship application, you will need to provide a 500-word personal statement explaining why you should receive this scholarship. This statement is a crucial component of your application and should highlight your academic achievements, passion for engineering, and future aspirations.
Important: Late applications will not be accepted. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email, and all applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of May 2026.
Selection Process
The University of Southampton follows a three-stage shortlisting process for awarding the Engineering Global Talent Scholarships:
Verification of eligibility criteria
Evaluation of academic records and qualifications as stated on your UCAS or PGT application form
Final selection by a panel that considers your supporting statement alongside your academic achievements
The university may also give special consideration to applicants from least developed countries, low-income, or lower middle-income countries. The scholarship selection is highly competitive, and not all applications will be successful. The decision of the scholarship panel is final, and no feedback will be provided on the selection process.
