Australia's national science agency, CSIRO, is funding 200 Honours and Master's scholarships through its Next Generation Graduates Program, which trains students in AI, quantum and other emerging technologies alongside industry partners.
The scholarships are for domestic students only: Australian citizens and permanent residents, others entitled to stay in Australia without time limit, and New Zealand citizens. PhD places are already filled.

Master of Philosophy scholars, who study for two years, also get a $5,000 travel allowance, a $420 thesis allowance and a $2,000 cost of living payment, and their stipend rises by 2% each financial year.
How the program works
Students enrol in one of 37 funded research programmes at Australian universities, in areas such as quantum technologies, AI and data science, disaster-resilient net-zero solutions and smart cities. You do not need a STEM background.
Scholars take a short course with their national cohort, do an industry placement, train in Australia and are expected to try to stay in Australia for two years after finishing.
How to apply
There is no fixed deadline: programmes recruit until their places are filled, and the final Master of Philosophy intake closes in December 2026 for a 2027 start. Choose a programme on CSIRO's website and contact its Chief Investigator, who manages recruitment.
