CSIRO-Funded PhD Scholarships at University of Adelaide

The Global Hydrogen Production Technologies (HyPT) Center, funded by CSIRO, is offering multiple PhD scholarship opportunities at the University of Adelaide. These prestigious scholarships provide a generous stipend of $35,300 per annum (likely tax-exempt) for a duration of 3.5 years, supporting research in cutting-edge hydrogen production technologies.

Available Research Projects

The HyPT Center is currently seeking candidates for the following research areas:

1. Hydrogen from Methane Pyrolysis

One full-time PhD position is available to develop new understanding and modeling tools for molten metal and salt bubbling catalytic reactors. The research aims to improve carbon separation and reaction rates in these systems. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Zhiwei Sun at zhiwei.sun@adelaide.edu.au.

2. Hydrogen from Photocatalytic Water-Splitting

This PhD project focuses on developing and testing cluster-based co-catalysts to enhance the kinetics of photocatalytic water splitting while reducing the amount of precious metal used. For inquiries about this position, contact Professor Greg Metha at greg.metha@adelaide.edu.au.

3. Market Analysis and Macroeconomic Impact of a Hydrogen Economy

Two full-time PhD positions are available to study the preconditions influencing the formation of national hydrogen strategies, mechanisms affecting market adoption of Hydrogen for Net-Zero Initiative technologies, and the macroeconomic implications of green hydrogen policies. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Qazi Haque at qazi.haque@adelaide.edu.au or Dr. Doko Tchatoka at firmin.dokotchatoka@adelaide.edu.au.
